Saara Korppi
GLASS DESIGNER
In my art I do things with my hands in a creative and
a bit crazy mindset. My passion is glass blowing,
I describe my work as challenging, exciting, endlessly creative and involving learning new process.
My inspiration comes from Finnish nature such as rock formations, and especially water as liquid, steam and ice.
Water moves and freezes just like glass does. Especially water in different forms as it transforms from liquid to freezing. I concentrate on exploring new possibilities with glass and blowing as thin as possible.
I like to explore how far I can go and how far I can let glass fall and bend at the same time. And I have used new ideas and techniques for my glass blowing.
